So I'm pretty new to this...both programming and writing blog posts. Azihayya and I have begun deliberating via email on the details of an RPG we intend to write for PTC. I don't want to share a lot of details, though, for two reasons. Primarily, most details, I feel, are still up in the air and divulging what I know may betray your expectations when your favorite details aren't included. Secondarily, I don't know how much Azihayya wants to share before its release, and I don't want to offend him so early in the process.
Nevertheless, I wanted to say these things about it. It is going to be awesome. One area that we both want the game to focus on is replayability, and we will most likely accomplish this by randomizing a lot of the game, including setup and plot. We both like music, which is a plus, as it will inevitably result in some spectacular sounds for our game. We don't like to be bored with combat, and we don't want to waste our large, beautiful world with a perfectly linear plot.
So I'm pretty new to this...both advertising and committing to projects. How do I decide what a decent deadline for creation is? How can I keep everybody else interested?
